Know Your Rights Presentation

Know Your Rights Presentation

Our Know Your Rights presentation is geared towards immigrant groups and provides a general overview of humanitarian immigration relief available under U.S. law.  It is very eye-opening for both citizens and non-citizens alike as our system is complex and can be very confusing.  This presentation is intended for any group with an immigrant population, such as a school, adult education program, or faith community.

Testimonial from Christine Valdez, Social Worker and ESL Facilitator at Middletown Adult Education, regarding our Know Your Rights presentation:

The Caritas Immigration Legal Services team was so informative for our immigrant students at Middletown Adult Education. For many it was the first time to get advice, information and resources they could trust. Caritas has done several presentations as well as to meet with students individually. They are so knowledgeable, professional and make our students feel comfortable. They also realize that many immigrants do not feel comfortable enough to ask questions so they provide all of the possible scenarios that one might have. Welcome to Middletown! We’re so glad you are here.

Testimonial of Joanna Holleck, Literacy Volunteers of Central CT:

"The Know Your Rights presentation was an incredibly valuable resource for both immigrants and allies in our community. The team at Caritas tailored the presentation to best address the questions that our group was facing, and the information was presented in an organized manner that was easy to understand. Attorney Jennifer O'Neill did a wonderful job at quelling some of the anxiety that many immigrants are facing while also being realistic and honest. Caritas Immigration Legal Services is truly doing great work in and for our communities."
